FORGE Terms
Introduction
By downloading or using FORGE (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them before using the App.
FORGE is made by Abhishek Chakraborty (“I”, “me”). It runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. There is no FORGE account, and the App works without one.
These terms are an agreement between you and me, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no duty to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for claims about it. If the App fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty duty for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You must follow the terms of any third-party agreement that applies when you use the App, such as your wireless data plan, and you may not use the App where you are in a country under a US embargo or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Not medical or professional advice
FORGE is a training log and planning tool, not a medical device. The recommended plan, suggested weights and reps, estimated one-rep maxes, records, volume, and trends are estimates from the numbers you enter. They are general information, not personal advice from a coach, doctor, or physical therapist, and not a diagnosis or a treatment.
1. Do not use FORGE to diagnose, monitor, or manage any medical condition.
2. Consult a doctor before starting or changing a training programme, particularly if you have an injury or a heart or other health condition, are pregnant, are taking medication, or have been advised to limit exercise.
3. Stop exercising and seek medical help if you feel pain, dizzy, or unwell, regardless of what the App shows.
4. Strength training has a risk of injury. You train at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety, for using safe technique, equipment, and spotters, and for judging what your body can do. A suggestion in the App is never a reason to lift a weight you do not feel safe lifting.
Accuracy
1. The App relies on what you type in. A wrong weight, rep count, or date gives wrong results.
2. Suggestions, estimates, and the plate calculator are aids. Check them yourself, and check that the weights you load on a bar are the weights you meant to load.
3. Do not rely on the App where accuracy matters to your health or safety.
User restrictions
1. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on devices you own or control, as allowed by the Apple Media Services Terms.
2. You are not permitted to:
- Copy or modify the App or any of its parts
- Alter my trademarks in any way
- Attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Translate the App into other languages or create derivative versions
- Rent, lease, sell, or sublicense the App
3. All rights, including trademarks, copyright, and other intellectual property rights related to the App, are owned by me. The exercise names, text, and artwork in the App are part of the App. Data you create is yours.
Your data
1. The workouts, profile, backups, and exports you create are yours. I do not collect them, and I have no copy of them. How the App handles them is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Your data lives on your iPhone. If you lose or wipe the device, you lose any data that is not in a backup. Export a backup file from Settings, and keep it somewhere safe. A device backup in iCloud or on your computer, if you use one, may also contain it.
3. Importing a backup replaces all the data in the App. This cannot be undone, so export a backup first if you want to keep what is there now.
4. I am not responsible for data loss, however caused, including loss caused by a device failure, an iOS or App update, a failed import, or deleting the App.
Equipment and connectivity
1. FORGE works offline. Logging, history, recommendations, and export do not need an internet connection.
2. A connection is used only by iOS, for example to download App updates. Your mobile provider may charge for that data, and those charges are yours. Check your agreement with your provider.
3. If you are not the bill payer for the device, make sure you have permission to use the App on it.
4. Rest alerts depend on iOS features such as notifications, alarms, and Live Activities, and on your Silent mode, Focus, and notification settings. I do not promise that an alert will sound or appear on time, so do not rely on one for your safety.
5. I advise against jailbreaking your device. Doing so may compromise its security and the App's functionality, and the App may stop working.
Changes and charges
1. I reserve the right to change the App and to charge for it or its services at any time and for any reason.
2. Any charge will be communicated clearly before it applies. Features you already have will not become paid without notice.
Updates and termination
1. I may update the App as system requirements change. You agree to accept updates.
2. I may stop supporting or providing the App without notice. Your rights under this license end at that point and you should delete the App from your device. Data already on your device is unaffected, and exports you have already made remain yours.
Liability
1. The App is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
2. I am not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the App, from anything it displays, or from any decision you make on the basis of it.
3. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. Check this page periodically. Changes are effective when posted.
